downhere
Marc Martel (downhere) Surprised? I think we were too, but man, can this guy sing. More powerful than the usual whiny rock singer. More controlled than a warbling Kevin Max. Able to leap giant Bono-like vocal ranges in a single bound. "Look! Up in the sky!
" Eh, just buy one of downhere's albums and hear Martel for yourself.
HymnSong is the title of Phil Keaggy's new album. Phil is touring with Michael Card and Sara Groves in a handful of concerts called, Scribbling In The Sand and Friends, a wonderful weave of musical talent.
November 7, 2002 - Michael Card Set To Release New Book and Album, A Fragile Stone, in 2003. Scribbling in the Sand was selected as one of Publishers Weeklys Top Religion Books of 2002
WESTMONT, IL
Author and musician, Michael Card, was recently honored when his book, Scribbling in the Sand: Christ and Creativity was selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the Best Religion Books of 2002. With over 400,000 books and 1 million albums to his credit in a career that spans 20 years, Card has continued to win honors in both the publishing and recording industries. IVP is the only evangelical publisher to have a book selected for 2002, and it is the first time IVP has had a top religion book selected by PW.
I remember being in college and the first step in determining whether a book was worth picking up or not was the InterVarsity stamp on the back, Card said. Ever since then I think InterVarsity has maintained a level of creativity and excellence that amazes me. So Im very proud to be part of their family.
Following the success of Scribbling in the Sand: Christ & Creativity, his first book with IVP (July 2002), Michael Card has signed on for a second book titled A Fragile Stone, to be released in July 2003.
A Fragile Stone will be an exploration of the dynamic, contradictory life of the Apostle Peter. After years of careful study of the New Testament, Cards portrait reveals the personality and character of this pivotal leader of the early church. IVP will be working with Michael Card Music and Covenant Artists for a joint music/book marketing initiative. As with Scribbling in the Sand, a companion music CD, audio book and study guide are planned for A Fragile Stone to be released on M20 Records in March 2003.
